Anatomy and Physiology covers the basics of human anatomy and human physiological functioning including anatomical terminology, basic biochemistry, cells and tissues. As well as the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.
Lab activities are a major part of this course and will include lab practical exams. In lab we will cover human gross anatomy through the use of models and diagrams. We will cover human comparative anatomy using animal specimens. The investigation of human body physiological functioning will be preformed through lab investigations.
The dissecting of preserved animal specimens is a required component of this course. The specimens investigated through dissections include sheep brain, heart, and kidney, sheep or cow eye, fetal pig, and cat.
